America's State Parks announced that state park systems across the country will sponsor over 500 guided First Day Hikes on New Year’s Day 2013. America’s State Parks First Day Hikes offer individuals and families an opportunity to begin the New Year rejuvenating and connecting with the outdoors by taking a healthy hike on January 1, 2013 at a state park.
Join in the fun at 3 park systems in Garrett County including New Germany State Park.
Degree of Difficulty: Easy
Minimum Age for Kids: 4
Restrictions: Dogs on a leash are welcome.
Length of the Trail: 1.0 miles
Things to Bring: Participants should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather (rain, snow or shine), and bring water for drinking and a camera (optional).
Enjoy the winter wonderland of Western Maryland! A ranger will guide hikers in search of winter songbirds and other animals that make their home in the forest at New Germany State Park.
