Together, Garrett College and The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce will offer Certified Food Handler Training on May 9, 2012, at Garrett College. Chris Herrmann, Senior Consultant for Sherwin Food Safety, LLC, will instruct two sessions on May 9th: a morning session from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. and an afternoon session from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. ANYONE who works with food and/or beverages is encouraged to attend one of these sessions - all food and beverage handlers need to have a good understanding of food safety and how contaminated foods cause foodborne illnesses. This course will emphasize the importance of food safety and will identify the causes and consequences of foodborne illnesses. Materials from NEHA have been elevated to an ANSI level - this course is a MUST for food handler professionals. A Professional Food Handler certificate and wallet card will be awarded at conclusion of the training.
