The Garrett County College Expo, sponsored by Garrett County Public Schools and Garrett College, will be held on Monday, October 10, at the Garrett College Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex (CARC) Gymnasium in McHenry. The event is free and open to the public, and students of all ages are encouraged to attend. Home school and private school students are also welcome to attend. The program begins at 6 p.m. with a financial aid presentation, which is also held in the CARC gymnasium. Financial Aid representatives from Garrett College will be on hand to answer questions about federal, state, and local scholarships and aid programs, including the Garrett County Scholarship Program. Attendees can visit with 30+ college representatives from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Students who attend the Garrett County College Expo will be eligible to register for scholarship prizes. One senior from Northern Garrett High School and one from Southern Garrett High School will be selected to receive a $500 scholarship, which can be used at any college or university. Second place winners from each school will be awarded a $250 scholarship. The Garrett College Foundation will also award two book scholarships.
