FireFly Farms, producer of artisanal goat cheeses from Maryland’s Allegheny Plateau, will open the FireFly Farms Creamery & Market to visitors in downtown Accident on Friday, October 7 at 10:00 am.
FireFly Farms’ new location will offer observation windows for visitors to see its specially constructed production and aging facilities. All of FireFly Farms cheeses are crafted on site in the Accident creamery using fresh goat’s milk purchased from four local family farms.
The new Market will feature FireFly Farms’ award-winning goat cheese as well as other specialty, innovative items from the region and around the world, including fine cow and sheep cheeses; quality pastas, crackers, and breads; gourmet condiments, sauces, oils, and vinegars; unique honeys, syrups, and cookies; exceptional patés, prosciutto, and meats; and select wines, beers, and soft drinks.
The FireFly Farms Creamery & Market will also feature a custom mural created by Cumberland artist Mark Stutzman, as well as goat totems carved by local artist John “Sacco” Carter.
The FireFly Farms will be open seven days a week beginning Friday, October 7, 2011 as follows:
· Monday – Thursday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
· Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
· Sunday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
