• Accounting Clerk

    Responsible for assisting the Finance Department with all aspects of the daily operations.

    • Assisting the Accounts Payable Specialist
      • Advises management and respective vendors when an invoice has not been authorized for payment, researches same, and remedies situation.
      • Communicates with all departments on property, with respect to invoices, expense reports, guest damages, etc.
      • Coordinates with other departments to secure any missing paperwork.
      • Vendor statement reconciliation.
    • Accounts Receivable Duties
      • Receives incoming/outgoing telephone calls regarding receivables
      • Assists accountants in handling billing disputes with patrons.
      • Post customer payments by recording credit card and check transactions.
      • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
      • Follow up on due dates for payment, deposit dates, and work with other departments in collection of data. Provide accounts, posting charge requests, and general information to other departments.
      • Work with Hotel and Sales Managers to research guest back up and related billing issues.
    • Obtain vendor set-up information and determine if the vendor must register with the MLGCA.
    • Coordinate with vendors and MLGCA to register vendors.
    • Record retention activities including, scanning and filing.
    • Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager and Director of Finance.

                EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.  Some college courses, preferably in accounting, or the equivalent in work experience, required.
    Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.  Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate, with superior spreadsheet skills and a proficiency in an accounting software system a benefit.  Must be computer-literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
