1. Kick-off the Holiday Season
When stores jump the gun and start preparing for Christmas before Thanksgiving has even arrived it can be difficult to really get into the spirit of the season. That’s why the December Business After Hours has always been a favorite of mine—it serves as a great kick-off to the rest of the month’s festivities.
2. Good Company
Sure, you could be a Grinch and go straight home after work, but you’d be missing out. It’s nice to enjoy the company of our members any time of the year but especially so when everyone is filled with holiday cheer. December often flies by in such a flurry of activity that Business After Hours could be your best chance to catch up with colleagues before the New Year.
3. The Who Feast (Roast Beast Not Included)
What would a mixer be without tasty finger foods and refreshing beverages? No cans of Who hash will be served at this Business After Hours— but rumor has it our host is having the event catered by a barbeque joint that is sure to make your mouth water! That’s worth the price of admission alone!
4. Toys for Tots
To celebrate the season of giving we encourage all who attend the event to bring with them a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Veterans of the United States Marine Corps will be present to accept your generous gifts and distribute them to less fortunate local children. In return for your generosity you will also get a complimentary ticket to a future Business After Hours!
5. Holly!
Next Wednesday is the birthday of the Chamber’s wonderful Projector Coordinator Holly Lane so make sure to wish her a Happy Birthday. Christmas is also her FAVORITE holiday so bonus points if you sing her “Holly Jolly Christmas”!
