Adolescent Brain Health Conference
Interested in learning more about adolescent brain health and how substance use, traumatic brain injury, and trauma affect the developing brain? Join us March 31st to learn how to identify features of developmental vulnerability that contribute to adolescent SUD risk and discover developmentally-informed approaches to SUD treatment for adolescents. Learn about trauma, secondary trauma, and healing from trauma. Understand how trauma impacts the brain, child development, and life functioning. Become familiar with neurobiological structures and physiological processes involved in traumatic events. Learn how trauma affects memory encoding and recall and victims' emotions and behavioral presentations. *Social Workers: This program qualifes for 3 credit hours of Category 1 Continuing Education Activity. Garrett County Health Dept./Behavioral Health Authority is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in MD to sponsor social work continuing education programs and maintains full responsibility for this program. *Licensed Professional Counselors: This program has approved MD State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists to satisfy 3 Category A Continuing Education Requirements. Garrett College is approved by the MD State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as an authorized sponsor. *Full attendance, participation & completion of program evaluation is required for Continuing Education credit.
