Apple Butter Boil

The staff of Herrington Manor & Swallow Falls invites you to come and join us for our Annual Apple Butter Boil! This event will take place at the pavilion at Swallow Falls State Park. Old fashioned apple butter is made outside over an open fire, stirred by a long-handled paddle in a big copper kettle! Learn some of the tricks of the trade and try your hand at stirring the butter. Apple butter made during the day will be on sale once it is ready, usually around 3 pm. Apple butter, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & drinks will be available throughout the day for our park guests! Delicious food, crafts for the kids, and the smell of apple butter in the making are just a few of the many reasons to spend your Saturday at Swallow Falls State Park.
