    About Us

Opened in 1971, Garrett College is located in the mountains of western Maryland surrounded by a four seasons natural environment. Noted for its small size and personal concern for students, the college is more a family than an institution. The college motto ''Small College, Big Results.'' For the last four years Garrett's students who transferred to a Maryland college outperformed transfers from the other seventeen community colleges. Garrett offers the first and only Adventure sports Degree available in the United States. The degree is fully articulated with Frostburg State University to which students can transfer as Recreation majors with a concentration in adventure sports. Garrett other Signature Programs include Natural Resources, Wildlife Technology, Agriculture and Juvenile Justice. So whether you are seeking an Associate of Arts degree, an Associate of Applied Science degree or a specialized certificate let Garrett College lead you towards big results.
