The marketing and advertising of Deep Creek Lake and the promotion of recreation through travel information at its visitors center make this industry representative both a destination marketing organization (DMO) and a convention and visitors bureau (CVB). Unlike similar nonprofit organizations, the Chamber is a business association supporting economic development while preserving a quality of life. Garrett County, which neighbors Allegany County and lies in the Allegheny Mountains, is a magnet to incubator companies.
